The Leeds Piano Trail is bringing music back to every street corner this September as part of the 20th Leeds International Piano Competition.  The Leeds Piano Trail is an imaginatively decorated series of pianos placed in urban spaces which are available for public to play and enjoy.  Leeds Citizens , supported by Leeds Church Institute and Leeds Methodist Mission, are one of the partnering community groups that are helping to bring the music out of the concert hall and into all areas of our community.

You are invited to our second “Power to the People” piano transformation workshop on Wednesday 19^th May 2021, 6pm-8pm (via Zoom). In our first workshop we shared our ideas and thoughts of what “Power to the People” means to us. Our next step is to take these conversations and begin to refine them into a single artistic piece, using the piano as a canvas (but please don’t think this means the piano must be painted) and using the ‘Power to the People’ sculpture as a stimulus.

During the session we will work with local artist Rosie Vohra to begin to shape the discussions into a single artistic expression. Please feel free between now and then to muse on what this could be and bring ideas to the session, using the piano sculpture design and words above as inspiration.
