Let My Vote Count! The Risks of Voting in Georgia and What to Do

Start: Monday, August 06, 2018 6:30 PM

More disturbing news for Georgia voters: two of the 12 recently indicted Russian intelligence officers were specifically trying to "identify vulnerabilities" in Georgia, Florida, and Iowa prior to the 2016 presidential election. This news affects all Georgians no matter what party you vote for, because the vulnerability of our voting systems has already been exposed in lawsuits, investigations, and scandals for years. And with another important election just months away, we have to ask, what must be done so that we can go to the polls in November and know that our votes are secure and safe? "Let My Vote Count" answers that question. Join us at Manuel's on Monday evening Aug. 6 for a presentation from cybersecurity and computer science experts Richard DeMillo, Logan Lamb, and Lydia Ray. They walk us through the facts about the vulnerabilities in Georgia's election systems, followed by recommendations from Marilyn Marks, Director of Coalition for Good Governance, and Dana Bowers, co-founder of Georgia Votes Paper, on how these problems can be solved in time for the November 2018 mid-terms. Manuel's Tavern, 6:30-8:30 pm, Monday August 6.
