People's Lobby Day to End Gerrymandering
Start: Tuesday, May 07, 2019• 9:00 AM
End: Tuesday, May 07, 2019• 4:00 PM
Join us for a People's Lobby Day in Raleigh to call on the General Assembly to end gerrymandering!
Our base of operations will be the auditorium in the North Carolina Museum of History, right across the street from the General Assembly. We will be joined by members of the California Citizens Redistricting Commission who will be on hand to share their experience making independent, nonpartisan redistricting work in their state.
9:00am: registration begins (Please note: the museum does not open until 9am)
9:30am: welcome, talking points, status of pending legislation and overview of the day
10:00am-1:00pm: appointments with lawmakers, citizen lobbying, lunch on your own
1:00pm: presentation from members of the California Citizens Redistricting Commission
2:00pm: "People's Hearing" on redistricting reform proposals
We're still finalizing locations and room numbers for some of the above, but all will either take place in the History Museum auditorium or in the General Assembly buildings across the street.
