London Citizens are building a campaign to provide asylum seekers with access to free bus travel in London.

We will be joined by the Maryhill Integration Network and VOICES Network who won a campaign for £2 million to provide asylum seekers in Scotland with free bus travel.

After a listening event in June 2023 with 150 asylum seekers living in hotels, a lack of bus travel was identified as a key priority. A campaign to provide asylum seekers with access to free bus travel was ratified at a London Citizens assembly on October 2023 with 300 attendees representing over 200 civil society organisations. On 25th April, we are hosting an accountability assembly with politicians running to be the next Mayor of London.

With successful campaigns in Scotland, we want to convince the next Mayor of London to provide asylum seekers with access to free bus travel.
