Let's Mark Progress on Congressional Pressure for Monthly Stimulus Checks

For the past ten months, there has been a well coordinated grassroots effort to pressure Congress to include monthly stimulus checks to the people. With new Congressional leadership and a new President, we now have new opportunities to make progress on this critical issue. Too many people are going hungry and facing eviction. Action is critical now.

This Virtual Event will be a celebration of our progress and a level-set on prioritized next steps. We will highlight key events, including the Feb 4th Day of action.

February 4th Day of Action: Petition Delivery

A key part of this effort has been a highly successful petition: when COVID hit, Stephanie Bonin, a small business owner, created a change.org petition calling on Congress to support families with monthly checks of $2,000 for adults and $1,000 for kids. More than 2 million people have signed this petition.

The in-person and online delivery of the signatures of this petition on Feb 4th is an important milestone in the grassroots movement for Monthly Stimulus Checks.

Event Program includes:

• Highlights from Feb 4th Petition Delivery events: we will share videos and photos of the delivery of these signatures in the form of a Past Due Invoice from constituents to key Senators. This includes in-person and online grassroots action. We anticipate responses from Senators and will include these as well!
• Outline Next Steps: Letters to Congress, Call campaigns, and other grassroots action is critical to making sure our elected leaders prioritize the needs of the people during this economic crisis. Income Movement and our partner orgs make action easy. Get links to quick but impactful action!
