Right now, we have a small window of time left to take action on the climate and ecological emergency.
Right here, we're in one of the few places on Earth where we can take to the streets en masse. The eyes of the world are upon us, and we can lead the way.
Doing nothing risks everything.
On March 22:
10 am to midday is VIBE TIME in the Stirling Gardens – where you can connect, create, learn or just chill.
There’ll be different areas set up with something to suit everyone: talks on First Nations justice and climate science, music and arts, mini action trainings, intro to XR workshops, an area for families and more.
Then, from midday, we get into action.
We’ll hold a DIE-IN on St George’s Terrace, where Rebels will lie in the road, disrupting business as usual with a reminder of the mass extinction that awaits us if we don’t act now. In true XR fashion, there'll be music, arts, and a chance for you to bring your creativity to the action. Dress up, bring a musical instrument, paint your message on a placard and make it fun!
This action has a place for everyone, and you can choose how you participate. We all have a role to play, whether that's causing disruption, handing out flyers, singing, bringing food or being present in support. For all of us, its a chance to make a stand with others who care.
After we take the streets, we’ll head on back to the park for food, a chance to debrief, and some music.
This is a matter of life and death. Take the pledge to join us now. It'll allow us to keep you in the loop with what's happening. Committing to be there can help us plan and show others that we're building something huge.
Speak to your loved ones, tell them why you're taking to the streets, and ask them to join you.
And we won't just stop on the 22nd. This is a multi-day Rebellion. We'll occupy Stirling Gardens for as long as we can, using it as a base for community building, outreach and training. From there, we'll go out into the city to take further action throughout the week.
It'll work if you join us. Book your time off work. You won't want to miss it.
We are committed to mass civil disobedience until our demands are met.
