The types of tactics the K3 tenants are experiencing are typical of landlords eager to eliminate rent stabilized units and socially engineer away the working class in favor of greater profits, and the kind of thing we can all expect to experience while under the tyranny of the propertied class. Meanwhile, the proposed rent increase for rent stabilized units, scheduled to go into effect next year, would charge tenants of those buildings between 7-9% more per month. With over 40,000 evictions already filed this year, and with another 278,000 households behind on rent payments due to the pandemic, the increase can only truly be viewed as a disaster waiting to happen.

In situation like this, the old adage "an injury to one is an injury to all" absolutely applies.

The march will happen tomorrow, Monday August 7 at 8am and go until noon, starting at 1057 S Western Ave. Come stand in solidarity with fellow DSA-LA/LATU dual-carders and organized tenants. Let's make it so the landlords always fear the power of tenants unionism!
