Marxist Reading & Discussion Group - Socialist Feminism
Start: Monday, May 30, 2022• 6:30 PM
End: Monday, May 30, 2022• 8:30 PM
The Marxist Reading & Discussion Group is welcome to new and seasoned readers of Marxist literature! Please join us as we work through and discuss some of the seminal works of foundational leftist thinkers, with regards to how they pertain to modern political struggles. All discussions are based on works that are broken down into shorter, digestible chunks with no prior experience (or attendance) needed, so feel free to drop in as your schedule permits. We’d love to hear your thoughts!
Our meeting format is currently hybrid, so feel free to meet us on the outdoor patio in the back of Tippe and Drague (Beacon Hill) Optimism Brewing Company (Capitol Hill) or Zoom in! If you are attending in person, please try to come a bit earlier (~6:30pm) to get settled, order a food or a drink, etc. For people dialing in remotely, the meeting will start at 7pm!
Discussion and Readings for this week: Barbara Ehrenreich, What is Socialist Feminism? and Johanna Brenner, The Promise of Socialist Feminism
