May Day Rally to Pass the PRO Act

Start: Saturday, May 01, 2021 2:00 PM

Join our May Day rally at the Five Points intersection on the corner of West 1st Street and Miller Street outside Piedmont Plaza at 2pm on May 1st in order to show support for the PRO Act and the rights of workers. After the rally, we will have a community event for Triad workers in Miller Park w/ refreshments and snacks.

All workers deserve safety, higher wages, and respect from employers, but Southern workers have faced aggressive anti-worker legislation dedicated to upholding the profits of the few at the expense of the working majority. The PRO Act (Protecting the Right to Organize Act) would represent a step forward for NC workers by repealing Right to Work legislation that makes it harder to organize.

This event is sponsored by local organizers of the Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee (EWOC) a grassroots joint project of the United Electrical, Radio, and Machine Workers of America (UE) and the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). Our organizers are dedicated to empowering workers to win the respect, wages, and safety we deserve. If you are struggling against unfair and unsafe working conditions in the Triad area, visit https://workerorganizing.org/ and get support.
