We’ll be voting on Seattle DSA’s delegates to the DSA National Convention and any Seattle DSA members running for the National Political Committee of DSA.

Here are the NPC nominations from Seattle DSA members to be voted on by the chapter

According to National DSA, here are the rules regarding the NPC nomination from chapters, etc:

"The deadline to submit NPC questionnaires is June 14, 2023 at 11:59 pm PT.

Any DSA member in good standing may be nominated as a candidate for the NPC elections through a nomination resolution passed by a majority vote of either:

• the chapter or organizing committee (OC) of which they are a member
• any recognized National Working Group or Committee
• a majority vote by the current NPC

Chapters, OCs, national DSA Working Groups, or committees must hold a nomination meeting for the NPC candidate. The nomination may occur as part of a general meeting. Nomination should not be seen as an endorsement of a candidate or their politics, but as an affirmation that the member is active in the work of DSA and is constructive and comradely towards their fellow members."

The LC is working on getting the delegate statements up on the blog so we can make an informed decision about who we want participating in the democratic discussions and debates on the way forward for DSA. Announcements will be made when these are available. Keep an eye out!

General Membership Meetings are the events in which the largest number of members come together to hear about what the chapter has been up to recently, learn what is on the horizon and how to get involved, discuss ideas, and vote on how we should use our collective resources of money to achieve our goals.
