Monona Rise for Climate Rally

Start: Saturday, September 08, 201812:00 PM

On September 8, thousands of rallies will be held in cities and towns around the world to ask our local leaders to commit to building a fossil free world that works for all of us.

Bring friends, the family and signs, and join together to send a common message to our leaders, asking them to commit to moving forward on 100% renewable energy for our community; to make it a priority.

Our leaders are good people who want to do the right thing. We need to show them we've got their backs, we support this change, and we're ready to work together with them to make it happen.

Be inspired at the Monona Peoples Climate Rally this Saturday at noon in Woodland Park where you will hear from the following speakers:

1. Senator Mark Miller will highlight the importance of your voice and share words of encouragement on this important issue.
2. Rev. Nick Utphall, Madison Christian Community Church, will speak to the social justice aspects of climate change.
3.Heather Allen, Program Director for RENEW and the host of the radio show and podcast the Wisconsin Energy Broadcast, will highlight the financial benefits of renewable energy.
4.Sherrie Gruder, UW Extension, will highlight the recent 100% renewable energy resolution passed in Middleton, value of resolutions and a referendum’s role.
5. Bruce Kahn, will speak to the importance of renewable energy to the business community.

Local co-hosts include 350 Madison, Seeds of Peace Madison, Sierra Club of Wisconsin, and Monona United Methodist Church.
