This training is will be a multiplatform event, it is physically located at the Lewiston office and online. It is open to all progressive staff and any volunteer interested in learning how to plan and carry out non-violent direct actions, including a brief overview of de-escalation tactics. Please note this is *not* a training to prepare individuals to participate in direct action and rather is geared towards those who plan to organize such actions.. This event series will occur the third Thursday of every month, 5:30-7:30 pm, at the Lewiston MPA office.
Cost is $100.00 per person for the entire series of events.
Because space is limited, we may not be able to accept everyone who applies. Be sure to answer the question that allows you to tell us a little about yourself and why you would like to attend the event.
We aim to offer these trainings to as many people as possible to strengthen the progressive movement. While there are costs involved—staff time, food, venue rental, and materials—the fee we’re asking for covers the basics. However, we don’t want cost to be a barrier for anyone. If you can’t pay the full amount, simply pay what you can afford. And if you’re unable to pay at all, please apply anyway—we’ll do our best to accommodate you! If accepted into the program, the trainer will discuss with you about payment options and sliding fees.
