St. Louis DSA is putting together a fundraising night to help fund cleanup efforts in North Carolina after the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene in September. The evening will start with local artist Luisa Sims (@luisasims.music on Instagram) performing live music followed by the premier of the 2024 documentary ‘Open Country’. A wonderful new film about the origins of country music and how people of color created a genre of music to reflect their experiences as actual working-class folks.

$5 with calls for attendees to donate more throughout the night.
