Event Description:

As MCAS season approaches, it's time for the BPS community to come together and dive deep into the implications of these assessments. Join us for a critical conversation about the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) and its impact on our students, schools, and the broader education landscape.

Why You Should Attend:

This workshop is a must-attend for parents, educators, and community members eager to engage in meaningful dialogue, share perspectives, and gain a thorough understanding of MCAS testing's impact. Your participation is crucial to enriching the conversation, whether you have specific concerns, seek more information, or wish to contribute your insights. As stakeholders in the future of education, it is imperative that we understand the nuances of MCAS testing. This workshop is designed to address several key areas, including:
  • How MCAS Test Results Impact Your Child, Their School, and the Whole District?
  • The Thrive Act: What is it and How Does it Help?
  • A Quick Look Back: Why Are We Doing This Testing?
  • Choosing Not to Participate: What Does Opting Out Mean?
  • MCAS and Classroom Learning: How Do These Tests Change the Way Teachers Teach and Students Learn?
We are also pleased to offer interpretation services in Somali and Spanish. For assistance in other languages, kindly register by Monday, February 26, to accommodate your needs. For more information, please email us: info@bostonedjustice.org.
