New York Vigil - Human Chain to Unite 2 Koreas - 6.15 NY Committee for Reunification of Korea

Start: Saturday, April 23, 202211:40 AM

End: Saturday, April 23, 202201:30 PM

No matter where we go, we never forget the country we left. Our motherland Korea is always in our hearts. Our brothers and sisters live there now, and it is the proud home our ancestors built half a million years ago.

When the Japanese Empire fell after enduring murders, subjugation and ferocious resistance for 35 years, we should have regained our independence, instead, our land was divided by two rival superpowers.

For 77 years, this division has kept Korean people separated. Another US wargames in Korea will resume in April. These major war drills take place several times a year on the Korean Peninsula, driving 80 million Koreans to fear and despair, destroying any hope for inter-Korean relations. These war drills must end, forever. It is certain that new South Korean president will be able to withstand US pressure.

We must create a world in which public opinion for reunification can overcome U.S. obstruction and anti-reunification foes. We must achieve Korea’s reunification.

We have already experienced the achievement of inter-Korean cooperation and mutual prosperity at the Kaesong Industrial Complex. It is our responsibility for next generations where tens of thousands of inter-Korean joint ventures will thrive.

On April 23, we will symbolically connect the North Korean and South Korean UN Missions in New York, with a human chain. Compatriots and many other allies will join hands to create a human chain to connect the two missions. We will perform our dream to bring 2 Korea together. We will lift the hope for reunification high into the Manhattan so that our wish will reach our motherland across the Pacific Ocean. We cordially invite you to join us to our practice to bring our dream come true.
