Host Guidelines - Transit Equity Day 2024

Let's get on board for Transit Equity Day! This national day of organizing and mobilization brings together unions, transit rider organizers and climate and environmental justice groups to act as one voice around February 4, Rosa Park's birthday, and to declare transit equity as a civil right.

In mobilizing for victory during Transit Equity Day 2024, the Labor Network for Sustainability is partnering with the National Campaign for Transit Justice to drive an urgent narrative: Our public transportation systems should be measured by how well they service riders.

Our unified mobilization will be to escalate pressure on our decision makers to win fully-funded operations and service. Good service drives Equity, Cools the Climate, Provides good union jobs, and Strengthens our economy.

Visit our landing page to access the TED 2024 Organizing Toolkit for resources and support to both plan actions locally and leverage up nationally with one loud voice for fully-funder service: https://www.labor4sustainability.org/transit-equity-2024/

If you have an action in the works, please register it on this site so we can start helping you with organizing and amplification. Join us at our biweekly planning meetings on Fridays at Noon Eastern. To make sure you're invited, contact Bakari Height at bakari@labor4sustainability.org.

NOTE: We *may* be able to offer a stipend up to $500 to organizations hosting a Transit Equity Day action. Please indicate this below or reach out directly to Bakari if you are requesting this.

Also: on Monday, February 5, we'll hold a livestream featuring events from across the country. Our featured guests will be . . . you! If you’d like to hold a conversation or share content for the national livestream, let us know. Spots are FREE and they are a wonderful exposure for your community!

Thank you!
