Thank you for signing up to host a People's Climate March! After you set up your event, we'll be in touch with materials to help your planning and recruitment.
By signing up to host a People’s Climate March, you agree to abide by the following:
# We will use no violence (physical or verbal) towards any person or destroy or damage property.
# We will promote a tone of respect, honesty, transparency, and accountability in our actions.
# We will not carry anything that can be construed as a weapon, nor possess (or consume) any alcohol or drugs.
# We will ensure facilities and the march route are accessible to people with disabilities.
# Those directly affected by climate change and environmental injustice should be on the organizing committee and at the front of the march. If people are unable to actively participate in the organizing committee, they should be consulted on key planning decisions. (Some examples of directly impacted groups are environmental justice communities, workers/labor, youth and immigrant communities among many others)
# March resources should be allocated in ways that ensure active participation by impacted communities. Frontline engagement should be prioritized when allocating funds.
# Sister marches are encouraged not to target a unionized facility/plant but instead emphasize the impacts felt by the local community.
# We will follow the Jemez Principles for Democratic Organizing to respectfully engage with impacted communities.
# We will all hold each other accountable to respecting these agreements.
