Newport Action Weekend - Shaftesbury
Start: Saturday, April 23, 2022•10:00 AM
End: Sunday, April 24, 2022• 4:00 PM
Join us for a weekend of campaigning in Newport to help get Lauren James and Tanya Sinnett elected to the City Council!
Why join us?
Local government doesn't always have the best reputation. Nor does it often inspire and energise people. But it can be a momentous force for good when used in the right way. With the right policies, ideas and vision, local councils can totally transform people's lives. That’s why we’re campaigning to get our first Greens elected to Newport City Council this May!

The story so far
We've already built a positive relationship with many residents in the ward - from cleaning up their childhood park to making our area safer, residents feel the impact we've had on their lives from outside the council chamber.
At the turn of the new year residents started asking if we were going to stand. Lauren has been stopped by people on the school run and we've been stopped and thanked for our hard work while leafleting. We spotted our first Vote Green poster (presumably saved from a previous election) in early February!
We are onto something special here.
