No Excuses: Public Power NOW!

Start: Saturday, June 05, 2021 1:00 PM

The legislative session is coming to an end, and Albany is set to do nothing about the climate crisis for the third year in a row. The Build Public Renewables Act would create 51,000 green jobs and bring billions in green stimulus to frontline communities, enabling us to build enough renewable energy to power the majority of the state. But despite this being a no-brainer bill, Democratic leadership is dragging their feet because they're bought by corporate polluters.

They know we’re holding a massive rally in Manhattan on June 2. But what they don't know is that B/UM is planning a second, surprise action three days later, where they least expect: the heart of Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins’ own district. Join us alongside Jamaal Bowman on on June 5th at 1pm at Van der Donck Park in Yonkers to demand they pass the Build Public Renewables Act NOW, before we lose another year to our looming climate crisis.

Easy access from the Metro-North Yonkers stop. From Manhattan, take the 12:30pm train from Harlem - 125th st, arriving at 12:55pm at Yonkers.
