Phone calls are one of the most effective ways of getting through to MPs' offices. MPs receive thousands of emails each day, so by getting on the phone, you significantly increase your chances of getting a response.

16 MPs have signed the pledge so far* - do you have five to ten minutes to spare across lunchtime on the 17th to ask your MP to join them?

Event schedule:

• 12.00 - 12.15

  • Informal training session: calling MPs’ offices about the No Fossil Funding pledge
• 12.15 - 14.30

  • Drop-in phone bank: come along anytime in this window to talk to us about calling your MP, then to call your MP and report back

How it works:

1. If you've never called your MP's office before, or would like some specific tips regarding talking to them about the No Fossil Funding pledge, please join us at the start of the phone bank (12.00) for an informal training session.
2. If you're dropping in at any time, we can also have a quick chat to exchange thoughts about speaking to your MP's office about the No Fossil Funding pledge before you get on the phone.
3. Then, when you feel ready, you will call your MPs' office
   1. You can either leave the zoom call or go on mute while you're on the phone (if you get through, you'll likely be on the phone for just a couple of minutes - MP staffers are very busy..!).
4. Finally, you can then rejoin us on zoom to debrief - to let us know what was said if you got through, and to discuss possible next steps either way.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email us on info@fossilfreeparliament.uk

*If you think your MP may have signed the pledge already, please get in touch with us to check. If your MP has signed, you can still join us for the phone bank and we can assign you another MP or two to call.
