Join Extinction Rebellion Victoria December Rebellion at the Drill Hall, Melbourne, for a face-to-face workshop, exploring some of the ins-and-outs of taking non-violent direct action to sound the alarm and grow a mass movement taking action on climate.

NVDA training is essential to preparing ourselves to take nonviolent action safely, peacefully, rationally and regeneratively. (A full training is longer - much longer - and we recommend that you take part in our full training on Sat Dec 2nd in Abbotsford if you possibly can. This worskhop is the abridged version. Hosted by experienced Rebels, the session will cover topics such as:

·         Why nonviolence? And how?

·         Action roles and responsibilities

·         Your rights with police

·         Regenerative culture

·         Arrestee support

·         Pre-briefs and debriefs

·         Getting started: What’s next for you?

The training is fully interactive and experiential. It is critical for rebels who haven’t been arrested but are thinking about it, and for those who wish to play support roles at actions where arrests are planned.

The workshop is also a great opportunity to meet other rebels, hear their XR stories and learn to work together to build trust and community.
