On Saturday, October 5, 1:00 – 3:00 pm at Church of the Village, NYC-DSA is hosting an endorsement forum to consider the mayoral candidacy of Zohran Mamdani.

Given the citywide nature of the mayoral race, members of all NYC-DSA branches will partake in one endorsement forum where they’ll have the opportunity to hear directly from Zohran, ask questions, and debate his candidacy.

Voting on the endorsement will NOT take place at the forum itself. Instead, each branch will email an Opavote link to its membership in the days following the forum. Branches may also opt to hold additional discussion spaces so members have further opportunities to discuss the race with their comrades.

Note: there is no Electoral Working Group forum or advisory vote for the 2025 mayoral race, just the branch votes and the final vote of the Citywide Convention on October 19 (the Citywide Convention vote is replacing the typical Central Leadership Committee (CLC) vote).

Any dues-paying NYC-DSA member is welcome to attend, but you must have joined by July 5, 2024 to be eligible to vote. You must RSVP for the forum by 5:00 pm ET on Thursday, October 3 to guarantee admission to the forum.

A Zoom viewing option will be provided the day of the event.
