October Indivisible Marin Membership Meeting
Start: Sunday, October 13, 2019• 4:00 PM
End: Sunday, October 13, 2019• 5:30 PM
Location:Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Marin•240 Channing Way, San Rafael, CA 94903
This will be a meeting you don't want to miss! Pat Shiu, Director in the Department of Labor under President Obama, will share insights on her work, and that of other Obama officials, to preserve the rule of law during the Trump presidency. In addition, Nanda Schorske, IndiMarin's Recruitment Team Leader will talk about our strategy for growth and how members can help, and Cindy Ostroff, Voter Outreach Team Leader will talk about the upcoming Virginia election on 11/5 and why a win there is so important.
Also, we recently learned of an opportunity to help Marin community members without homes by supporting the important work of Marin Mobile Care and Downtown Streets Team. As part of this initiative, we will be collecting washed and gently used towels and/or sleeping bags at the meeting.
Marin Mobile Care has provided over 5,000 showers to those in need since it launched only 18 months ago. Recently, a large encampment in Marin was suddenly evacuated and everyone staying there lost all of their belongings. Items such as sleeping bags and clothing are especially important as winter approaches with colder temperatures and rain.
Please bring either of these items if you are able. They do not need to be new - just clean and gently used.
We look forward to seeing you on the 13th!
