Orange County (CA) Climate March

Start: Saturday, April 29, 2017 2:00 PM

The new administration in Washington has signaled a sharp U-turn on the United States' commitment to address the global climate crisis.  Washington's intended policies pose a threat to the future of our planet, the safety of our communities, and the health of our families.

In response, people everywhere are voicing their resistance, with a wave of peaceful protests and demonstrations larger than at almost any point in our history.  On April 29 people will be marching in Washington and in cities across the nation to tell Washington and the world that Americans want:
  • A new clean and renewable energy economy that works for everyone.
  • Clean air, water, land, healthy communities and a world at peace.
  • Social and economic justice, to protect front-line communities, minorities, and indigenous peoples who have had too little voice in the face of power.
  • A nation that honors its commitments to the rest of the world under the Paris Climate Accord.
  • Bold action that addresses the climate crisis at the local and state levels, even as Washington seems bent on undermining such progress.
We need the People's Climate March on April 29 to be even bigger than the one in September 2014.  Join us in Irvine on April 29 as we march for our families, our communities, and our planet.
Parking is allowed at Irvine United Congregational Church and St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church (next door to IUCC). Parking is limited—carpooling is encouraged!

Visit our Orange County for Climate Action website for details. Please RSVP (see link on our website) for parking info and any late-breaking changes.

And join us in the morning for our program Crises in the Ocean followed by a vegan lunch and cooking demonstration. Click for more info...
