A parents climate circle, facilitated by Rosie and Catherine.

What is a Parents Climate Circle?

The intention is for each Circle to be a safe enough space for a small group of eight individuals to share difficult feelings about the climate crisis. Led by facilitators who are peers and bring an understanding of the specific concerns that can come up for parents/carers.

These circles are focused on listening and sharing feelings and thoughts, not on offering guidance or advice. We believe that sharing big feelings with others is at the heart of resourcing parents and those responsible for caring for children. It is an important part in building resilient communities who are able to play our part in tackling the problems of climate change for all. Action is of course essential, but this space is a chance to step away from that briefly and ensure collective care includes you.

It’s important to have a safe enough space to explore the difficult and often complex thoughts and emotions that arise. Doing so enables us to think about the issues more clearly and constructively, to feel heard, to realise that we are not alone in facing these difficult truths and figure out our roles in making a difference. It also in turn means we are better equipped to help our children with managing their own climate distress.

This session is capped at 8 places to allow space and time for all to participate. Please do sign up if you're interested in joining, and if you can't make it please do let us know so that we can free your space up for someone else.
