PD: Working Together to Prevent Teen Dating Violence (Resched Date)

Start: Monday, January 28, 2019 4:30 PM

End: Monday, January 28, 2019 6:30 PM

Victims of teen dating violence in RI are much more likely than their peers who have not experienced dating violence to drink, use drugs, and consider or attempt suicide. They are also exceedingly more likely to have experienced sexual assault or bullying, all of which can have a negative impact on their academic achievement.

As concerned educators, parents, and community members, we must start connecting the dots; by looking at shared risk and protective factors, and by cultivating safe and healthy school climates, we can prevent multiple forms of violence at the same time. Join us for this session to develop a deeper understanding of the issue of teen dating abuse, and explore the role you can play in preventing violence among RI youth.
