People's Climate Parade - CHS

Start: Saturday, April 29, 2017 9:00 AM

STAND UP FOR OUR COMMUNITY AND CLIMATE!!

Let's all join for a sister parade to the People's Climate March on Washington. On April 29, 2017 at 9:00 AM let us show solidarity for our community and climate. In conjunction with the national march, we will demonstrate how climate change is affecting the greater Charleston area by marching through the East Side of town, beginning at the Royal American (970 Morrison Dr.) and ending at St. Julian Devine Community Center (1 Cooper St.). Charleston will experience sunny day flooding events 180 days by 2040. The time to take action is NOW!

Please wear crazy costumes, bring huge puppets, dress in rain gear to highlight our flooded streets, and bring signage to make the loudest statement we can.

Join us as we kick off AWAKENING V: KING TIDE, a collective to shine light on rising waters through creative art installations, poetry, lectures, and other events through May 29.

We resist.
We build.
We rise.
