People's Climate Sister March Ventura

Start: Saturday, April 29, 2017 2:00 PM

Donald Trump is a threat to the future of our planet, the safety of our communities, and the health of our families.

The new administration has attacked the hard-won protections of our climate, health, and communities, and the rights of people of color, workers, indigenous people, immigrants, women, LGBTQIA, young people, and more.

We've fought back with a wave of protests larger than at almost any other point in history — let's make sure that we mark the 100th day of his presidency with another mass action that stands up for our communities.

Join us at 2:00 on April 29th at Mission Park in downtown Ventura; we will march/swarm at 3 to the Ventura Botanical Gardens for a photo on the trails at 4.

Please note: The march will culminate with an aerial photograph taken at the Botanical Gardens.  Participants are requested to wear shirts in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo or violet, as we will be forming a "thermo-climb" up a trail to represent global warming. Please note: The photograph will be taken on a trail at the Botanical Gardens. Those wearing violet will have the shortest walk and those in red may have to hike up the trail a bit.

Any shirt in any color of the rainbow will do!  Parents will want to color-coordinate with their children.

We have not been able to get food trucks for our event, but there are many merchants downtown, and everyone has an hour to get from Mission Park to Ventura's Botanical Gardens, so there will be time to stop for refreshments along the way.
