Start: Thursday, July 06, 2017 4:00 PM

End: Thursday, July 06, 2017 8:00 PM

We stopped the repeal of Obamacare (Affordable Care Act) in its tracks—now let's keep up the momentum!

  • Save the ACA Phone Bank
  • Thursday July 6, 4-8 PM
  • Ed Roberts Campus, 3075 Adeline St, Berkeley (map)

We'll be phoning constituents in key states, asking them to put pressure on their Senators to vote NO on the health bill that was hand-written by Republican Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell.

Take the elevator from the Ashby BART directly to the Ed Roberts Campus. Please bring a fully charged cell phone, along with a laptop or device, earbuds if you have them, and a friend! We'll provide refreshments, and all the rest.

BART strongly encouraged. Parking available at the ERC, or Ashby BART lot.

Background

Mitch McConnell couldn't get enough votes to push the bill through last week, but don't be fooled. The Senate leadership is still focused on repealing the Affordable Care Act. During the Recess, they’ve been looking for ways to make last-minute changes that might win them crucial support and, Donald Trump is primed for deal making with hold-out Senators.

If enacted, Trumpcare would have severe impacts on the disabled community, seniors, and deprive the nation's most needy of essential services. It gives an enormous tax cut to the wealthy, defunds Planned Parenthood, and includes other elements that will remove over 20 million from health coverage through expanded Medicaid. Allowing the bill to pass would be a travesty.

We can't let that happen!
