About the Event: Hello! Do you want Senator Toomey to hold a town hall meeting?? Me too! After all, the ability to lobby our representatives for a redress of grievances is a fundamental part of our democracy. I know that there are many constituents, like myself, that would like to speak directly with Senator Toomey and express their discontent about his representation and availability. However, Senator Toomey has not currently scheduled a Town Hall meeting for the Congressional break... So, we can hold our own! In lieu of a formal town hall meeting held by the Senator, we will hold our own meeting! We will live stream and record this meeting to show the Senator what Pennsylvanians are thinking. I cannot wait to see the energy and strength of PA and remind Senator Toomey that he is accountable to us. UPDATES: I altered the theme of the meeting a little to be more inclusive of any representatives that are not holding town halls during the Congressional breaks as well as speakers that are able to official advice on political and civil engagement. Senator Toomey, Congresman Keith Rothrus and Congressman Mike Doyle are not holding town halls during the break. I have contacted Senator Toomey's office to request his attendance. (I suggest that more people call because the office was not very responsive) I have contacted Congressman Keith Rothfus's constituent service director and invited him to the meeting. I tried to call Congressman Mike Doyle, but his phones are not connected. *if someone lives in his zip code, please send him a contact e-mail. Senator Bob Casey is holding his own town halls! I have contacted his office to see if a member of his staff is available to attend. I have contacted Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and invited him or a member of his staff. I will send additionally updates if/when speakers confirm their attendance. Thank you all for your interest and participation!
