Comrades, the time has come to learn the true history of St. Louis. You may have heard stories of our city playing host to a vibrant Socialist community in the 1800s, or how it was at the forefront of the Civil Rights movement in the following century. Now you're going to learn all about it. Join us for a multi-session reading of Walter Johnson's The Broken Heart of America, a landmark account of St Louis's past! For our first installment, we will be reading Chapters 1-4. This is planned to be a 3-session reading, so if you miss any one of the readings, feel free to join in with the others!

We will be meeting at Read A Book STL, that wonderful used book store operated by one of our very own chapter members, on Wednesday, March 26th at 6:30pm! Refreshments will be provided as usual. Also, if you want to support a local bookstore, Read A Book STL has copies on hand.
