Rally at the People's Mansion - It's Time for a New Deal!

Start: Monday, April 07, 2014 5:00 PM

Join us on Monday April 7 as we call on Governor Nathan Deal to veto bad legislation passed by the general assembly. The 2014 legislative session saw unprecedented attacks on women, people of color, low-income communities, LGBTQ people, immigrants, the uninsured, and working families. Throughout the session, Moral Monday GA took action against these immoral bills and managed to shine a giant spotlight on our state.

Perhaps the most dire of these issues is the refusal to expand medicaid in our state, blocking access to affordable healthcare for 650,000 Georgians. It is estimated that up to 10 people will die in our state every day because of this decision. Thousands of people have signed petitions by Moral Monday and on April 7 we will deliver them directly to Governor Deal. RSVP to join us now, and help us send a message that we won't stand by and let our fellow Georgians suffer needlessly so that elected officials can make a political point.

Click here to sign the petition if you haven't already!

This is just the beginning. While we know the political landscape isn't going to change overnight, people are fed up with outdated ideas and out of touch politicians who are looking out for corporate interests or trying to score political points, instead of doing what is best for the people of Georgia. We'll see you at the Governor's mansion!

Parking, public transit, and other logistical information is provided on the next page after you RSVP.
