Start: Wednesday, January 22, 2025• 1:00 PM

While LA County is currently experiencing the worst wildfire incident in its history, , LA County's faith communities have risen to hold residents impacted by the wildfires, even as many clergy and leaders have lost homes and places of worship.
Solidarity pours from us like holy water, but civil society can only do so much; we need partnership from elected officials and government.
Will you join a RALLY and press conference TOMORROW, January 17 at First AME Church (1700 N Raymond Ave, Pasadena, CA 91103) at 10:00AM?
PLEASE CARPOOL IF YOU CAN!
We are urging our elected officials to adopt the following policy issues:
PROTECTING THE SANCTITY OF HOME AND COMMUNITY:
FOR RENTERS: A Countywide rent freeze and eviction moratorium, including Countywide temporary suspension of Costa-Hawkins and Ellis Act
FOR HOMEOWNERS: Just rebuilding policies that center self-determination of impacted communities, this includes anti-speculation policies
FOR SMALL BUSINESSES AND COMMUNITY CENTERS: Block grants for damaged or destroyed non-profits, including congregations and places of worship, in the fire zones to rebuild as well as the development of a community-led land bank in affected areas
ECONOMIC RELIEF: Guaranteed cash assistance for all whose livelihoods or wages have been impacted by the wildfires
ENSURING EVERYONE GETS HELP: Partnership and in-person comprehensive support and full assistance for Navigating FEMA, Insurance, Unemployment, or any other pertinent claims
