Rally for Mental Health!
Start: Wednesday, June 29, 2022• 5:30 PM
End: Wednesday, June 29, 2022• 7:30 PM
The Rally for Mental Health will be both an informative event and a rally for the creation of 708 Community Mental Health Boards in both Wheeling and Schaumburg Townships. The event MC will be Cook County Commissioner Kevin Morrison who along with other speakers will talk about the need for increased mental health services in our communities and how the 708 Boards will meet these needs through more targeted and comprehensive care for those affected by mental illness, addiction, or developmental disabilities. Mental health advocates, local leaders, and the general public are invited to this picnic-style event where food, refreshments, and games will be part of the activities. As a referendum needs to get on the November ballot in both townships allowing for these boards to be created, those who bring petitions to the event with five or more signatures will receive a prize. A notary will be available to sign petition forms at the event. Petitions for both townships are at https://www.advocatefor708.org/. In the case of rain, there is a shelter at our location. This event is being held by the Schaumburg 708 Mental Health Board Coalition, Mental Health Board for Wheeling Township, and Reclaim NW Suburbs as part of the coalition. This is a free event.
