Week Four (June 3 - June 9)

The Right to Health and a Healthy Planet: Ecological Devastation and Health Justice

This event will take place on June 4th. We will begin at 2 PM on the steps on the South Gate of the Texas Capitol. This is located on 11th Street. This is the starting point for the rally. The event is expected to last a couple of hours.

This is the fourth of six weeks of nonviolent moral fusion direct action across the country to show our elected leaders we will no longer allow attention violence to keep poor and disenfranchised people down.

The focus of this week is ecological devastation and health justice. We all have a right to health and a healthy planet, and when we invest more in fossil fuel extraction that pollutes our air and water, we damage both the environment and our health. Texas leads the nation in NOx emissions, a leading cause of respiratory problems, and also has the highest number of uninsured residents, at 4.2 million. These systemic problems cannot go on.
