Re-eMERGE Capitol Action Day (April 11)

Capitol Action Days are part of Missouri NEA’s comprehensive Government Relations plan to promote positive policy for public education. Join MNEA for Re-eMERGE C.A.D. in which new educators and retired educators join forces to talk to legislators about bills and issues that affect Missouri students and classrooms.

eMERGE members' lunches will be provided, and mileage will be reimbursed by MNEA-Retired


Schedule


  10:00 -- Gather in Hearing Room 4 (Capitol basement) for briefing with Otto Fajen, MNEA Legislative Director

  10:30 -- Meet with Legislators/Listen to floor debate, accompanied by members of MNEA-Retired

  12:30 -- Unwind at Canterbury Winery in Holts Summit

    2:00 -- Conclude


Special Notes


Please arrive early to allow extra time.

Parking: The Madison Street Parking Garage (across from the Governor’s Mansion and two blocks from the Capitol) is available for parking.

Entrance: Capitol renovations began recently and will last for the remainder of the session and beyond. The Capitol grounds are largely fenced off, and visitors will need to go around the fenced-in area on the south side of the Capitol and then proceed to the security checkpoint inside the "carriage" entrance under the Grand Staircase.

Security: All Capitol visitors are now required to go through security checkpoints, including metal detectors and inspection of items.
