SEEN is excited to present a powerful listening opportunity for our members and the broader community at our upcoming May General Meeting. A Seat At This Table: Centering the Voices and Experiences of Parents of SSCSD Students and Alumni of Color will be moderated by Deshaya Williams, M. Ed, M. Div (SSCSD ‘98). Joining her will be Steve Boxley (P'16, P'17), Warren Dart (P'01), Joy King (P'09, MAMS P'01), Patty Kosiba (P'30), and Jennifer and Richard Oliver-Goodwin (P'23, P'25, P'29). The panelists will be able to offer a wide range of perspectives spanning Saratoga’s past and present.

Deshaya is a powerful woman who has a strong desire to see people live in the fullness of who they were created to be in this world. After graduating from Saratoga Springs High School, she spent her formative years studying the behaviors and psychology of people at Penn State University obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and a Masters degree in Higher Education. Deshaya is known as a leader that leads by example and will challenge you to think beyond what you see before you, see your goals, your dreams and how you can make progress towards them. She currently works full time running her business as a birth and postpartum doula and lactation consultant.

SEEN is committed to paying BIPOC for their labor and their experience. In adherence to our values, the Steering Committee will be offering an honorarium to all panelists. While the program is free to the community, please consider a donation to support efforts and to allow us to continue offering meaningful programming to the group and working toward equity in our schools. Donate through GiveButter to support this programming ($5 suggested donation).
