Join the Secular Humanists of the Lowcountry (SHL) for a book club and movie club crossover event to watch the new film, based on the phenomenal book Remarkably Bright Creatures.

Remarkably Bright Creatures, by Shelby Van Pelt is a delightful book, and has been made into a new Netflix film staring Sally Field. We are going to stream the movie and then discuss the film and book. You need not read the book to participate, but it is an easy read and really fun if you get the chance to read it.

Event Details:

  • Date: Saturday, May 9

  • Time: 2:30 PM

  • Location: Reel Room at Overture
    7770 Farr St, Daniel Island

Beth B. has generously offered to host this event.

What to Bring:
Feel free to bring drinks and snacks to enjoy during the movie.

After the Film:
We’ll hold a group discussion immediately following the screening. Afterwards, those who wish may try to go out to dinner--we'll figure that out then.

This event is open to members and non-members alike. We hope you’ll join us for an engaging and thoughtful afternoon.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, SHL has funds available to ensure everyone feels welcome and able to participate. If you wish to join us for dinner, but the cost of dining out presents a challenge, please email us at shl@lowcountryhumanists.org and we can discreetly arrange to cover your costs.
Overture has elevators, located at the ends of the corridors. Contact us ahead of time and we can provide more specific directions to get from the entrance to the elevator, and then from the elevator to the Reel Room.
