Ribbon Cutting for Gardiner Town Hall Solar, LED Lighting & EV Projects

Start: Saturday, September 27, 202512:00 PM

Location:George Majestic Memorial Park40 Murphy's Lane, Gardiner, NY 12525 US

The Town of Gardiner is excited to share some amazing progress! Working with the Climate Smart Gardiner Taskforce, we’ve taken bold action to reduce climate and air pollution, lower costs, and make Gardiner a healthier, more affordable place to live.

✅ Solar Power at Town Hall

In April, Lighthouse Solar installed a 37kW solar array at Town Hall. This system will generate enough clean energy to fully power the building’s annual electricity use!

✅ Energy-Efficient Lighting Upgrades

In July, Conscious Energy upgraded all Town Hall fluorescent lights, the parking lot lighting, and the decorative streetlamps to long-lasting, energy-efficient LEDs.

✅ Our First Electric Town Vehicle

In August, Gardiner retired its old gas Jeep and replaced it with a highly efficient 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV, purchased locally from Healey Chevrolet.

These projects were fully funded through NYSERDA grants and federal tax credits from the Inflation Reduction Act—saving the Town over $14,000 a year in operating costs. Even better, these steps reduce Gardiner’s greenhouse gas emissions by over 11 metric tons per year.
