Ride for Climate
Start: Saturday, September 08, 2018•10:00 AM
End: Saturday, September 08, 2018• 1:00 PM
On September 8, thousands of rallies will be held in cities and towns around the world to demand our local leaders commit to building a fossil free world that works for all of us.
To urge Korean government to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees Celsius for responding to climate change, BigWave, the Korean Youth Climate Change Network, will have an event on September 8th – namely, “Ride for Climate”.
“Ride for Climate” is an event that BigWave and other youth groups will ride 15km by bike passing through Korean National Assembly in order to give messages that Korean youths are participating in the global action responding to climate change so that the Korean government would have to put more efforts to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees Celsius. We will ride bikes in Yeouido since it is a place where Korean National Assembly is located so that the policy makers and governors can know the aim of Rise for Climate. Also, this event will be organized as an open meeting so citizens can feel free to join us together.
In order to participate in this event, participants are recommended to rent Seoul Bike or bring any other kinds of bikes. BigWave coordinators will also inform locations of bike rental station before starting the event so all participants can feel free to join us. Please find more details regarding the scheduled activities and timeline as below.
