Galena - Rise For Climate Tri-States!

September 8 is a chance to bring our local efforts together. All over the world, people will come together to demand local action for the climate, jobs and justice on the eve of the Global Climate Action Summit. Thousands of rallies will be held in cities and towns around the world to demand our local leaders commit to building a fossil free world that works for all of us. To change everything, we need everyone!

Our Tri-States event is meant to raise awareness about climate change, how it affects every aspect of our lives and to advocate for holding our government accountable. We want to show that people everywhere are demanding more from their local leaders and that we won’t accept anything less than a fast and fair transition to 100% renewable energy.
This is what we have planned for the Tri-States Area:


Galena - 9am to 1pm, Galena Gazette Parking Lot.

· National Drive Electric Week EV Showcase: talk to EV owners, check out the rides!

· Eco-Expo: with Ride the Rails, Jo Daviess Local Food, Galena Green Team and other community organizations—free Boomerang Bags, solar cooking demo...

· Meet your candidates: ask them to commit to 100% renewables

Dubuque - 9am to noon, Key City Creative Center and Jackson Park.

· 9am: Screening Sierra Club Documentary 'Reinventing Power' at Key City Creative Center, 1781 White St. Sponsored by Northeast Iowa Sierra Club.

· ...followed by march to Jackson Park. Meet at 18th and Central. Bring your signs!

· 10:30am: Rally at Jackson Park with climate leaders Iowa State Senator Rob Hogg and Iowa State Representative Chuck Isenhart. Meet your candidates: ask them to commit to 100% renewables. Learn about local community organizations.
