Start: Saturday, September 08, 201810:00 AM

Thank you so much for saying yes to showing up for this important, soulful, and moving testament to our care for this earth. Our climate mobilization will be the biggest the West Coast has ever seen, and after seeing many of you at our recent events, surely will be the best sounding, EVER.

Here are a few things to prepare for the big event:

1. Coordinate using WhatsApp. Please click this link to join our group. This is how you’ll know where to find us and where we’ll be giving day-of instructions.

2. RISE Music Website - click here and share this link for general info on music at RISE.

3. Moment of Solidarity / Choral Flashmob -

  • We’ll start gathering as early as 9:40 (see #6), but the most important part of the action will be our Choral Flashmob! Details are below.

  • Play by Play Please review this graphic detailing the Moments of Solidarity (11am and 2pm). Save it to your phone, and share it far and wide! And feel free to practice “Voice of My Great Granddaughter” with the music video.

  • For the 11am Solidarity Flashmob - Go to join Thrive Street Choir with the Faith contingent (#3). Start spreading the word 10 min before at 10:50am that its about to go down! And at 11:02 be bold and rise singing strong!

  • For the 2pm Solidarity Flashmob - Remember when you assigned yourself a number #1-6? Please review the attached map and report to your corresponding location by 1:30pm to the center of your groups area.

4. Songbook - here is a link to our Rise for Climate songbook with lyrics and videos. Use this to prepare and/or bring a copy with you!

5. Patches for Song-leaders - If you’re a song leader, get your super fly screen-printed song-leader patch at Embarcadero Plaza Stage Right at 9:40am.

6. Rise for all Creation - As a prelude to the Moment of Solidarity, all singers are invited onto the Embarcadero stage to sing Rise for all Creation. Thrive Street Choir will be gather at 9:40am at Stage Right of Embarcadero Plaza (see attached image). Anyone is welcome to join us to run through the song at 10:20am before we sing it at 10:45 from the stage.

Remember that we are in the streets to use song and chants as a medium to make people feel connected, purposeful, welcome and powerful!  Whether we are doing this for a whole contingent marching or a small group gathered around a mural, this is an extremely precious contribution to the experience.  Our tool is song, with it we build love and connection.
