Rob Hopkins Talk

Start: 2020-06-03 19:00:00 UTC Greenwich Mean Time : Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London (GMT+00:00)

This is a virtual event

We are very excited to have Rob Hopkins – founder of the Transition Movement – join us for a talk and discussion on Wednesday 3rd June 2020 at 7:00pm - 8:30pm!

“Rob Hopkins is an activist and writer on environmental issues, based in Totnes, England. He is best known as the founder and figurehead of the Transition movement, which he initiated in 2005. Hopkins has written four books on environmentalism and activism.” Wikipedia

The talk and discussion will be to develop positive outcomes for leaving lockdown (without going back to polluting-as-usual), to include:

  • greening Derby City and beyond
  • practical projects
    • ...how to turn them into things we could actually do
    • ...in concert with other groups
    • ...in the spirit of Transition
    • ...and his "From What is to What if" book

The event is also a chance to network with people from other groups and welcome newcomers. (There will be time for this after the talk and discussion.)

Please spread the word and bring someone with you. (This event is also ideal for people new to the climate movement - Rob is a highly motivating speaker).

This event is free but donations welcome to support Rob's work and cover I.T. costs of XR Derby via JustGiving.

See you there!

Rob Hopkins reads the beginning of the chapter 'What If We Started Asking Better Questions?' in his greenhouse: YouTube video (13 minutes).
