In July, the Rockville City Council and Mayor voted to end discussion of rent stabilization, leaving Rockville renters unprotected from large rent increases. Despite this, tenants are continuing to advocate for rent stabilization. On January 13, the Council and Mayor will hold a discussion about community engagement and before the Rockville community hearing, tenants will use the community form to call out the Council and Mayor for failing to heed the hours of community input asking them to pass rent stabilization.
