UPDATE! NEW TIMES FOR PRESS CONFERENCE AND PUBLIC TESTIMONY!

• PRESS CONFERENCE: 11:30am, Outside City Hall on the North Side
• PUBLIC TESTIMONY: 3-5pm, City Hall Room 400

As of late Monday night, City Council changed the budget hearing schedule: instead of the public testimony being from 1:30-4pm, it is now from 3-5pm. Our press conference will now be at 11:30am, before the administrative budget hearing begins.

On the first day of budget hearings, the City has already limited our ability to engage in the process. The last minute schedule change not only shortens the amount of time for public testimony, but it also forces people who want to join to change their plans at the last minute or miss it. This type of conduct leaves people out, especially caretakers and those with less flexible work schedules. City Council is once again showing us that community engagement is not their priority!

PACK CITY COUNCIL! Join us for a Press Conference and Public Testimony to demand NO TAX BREAKS FOR THE RICH in this year's city budget!

We'll start outside City Hall where we will hear community advocates on how the proposed tax legislation will harm their communities. We'll also hear from elected officials on how they are fighting back!

After the press conference, we will head inside City Hall together. We'll be making sure our voices are heard by Councilmembers at the Public Testimony on Tax Bills.

It is important that our voices are prioritized over those with only big business and the ultra rich interests in mind. We need YOU to show up, we need YOU to share your story!
