SDSU Climate Strike
Start: Friday, September 20, 2019•11:30 AM
Our climate crisis requires immediate and bold action. The administration of SDSU is not acting fast enough. We want that to change.
On September 20th, join us for the SDSU Climate Strike where we’ll bring attention to climate inaction — alongside millions across the globe — as part of the #FridaysForFuture movement.
We’ve organized this peaceful strike to ask administration to:
Create and enforce an SDSU Green New Deal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030
Establish a Chief Sustainability Officer position in the president’s office to elevate climate as a priority
Design the proposed SDSU Mission Valley site to be carbon neutral
This event is open to the public! If you’re interested in more #GlobalClimateStrike events in the San Diego region please visit https://climatewalkoutsd.org/.
How the event will go:
- When you arrive on campus, meet us at 11:30 a.m. in front of Hepner Hall. From there we'll walk through campus passing by the administration building, East Commons, Centennial Walkway, Cal Coast Amphitheater, and the bus loop. Thanks to support from Associated Students, we will now be concluding our march in the Student Union Courtyard with a few speeches and statements of our asks to administration – finishing at about 12:30 p.m.
Please sign up here through Action Network for more information and logistics before you strike!
By signing up here, you're consenting to sign our letter to administration. If you'd like to read the letter in full or do not wish to have your name appear, please contact sarahekarver@gmail.com.
We hope to see you there! Any further questions can be directed to sarahekarver@gmail.com.
