SE Summer Gathering on 25 July from 11am-4pm

This will be an online gathering via Zoom.

We hope this will mean you and as many members of your Local Party can attend The South East Region Green Party Summer Gathering. Please don't feel obliged to stay for the whole day and please don't worry if you can't make it as we will record the plenary and training sessions for you to enjoy at a later date.

THE MORNING 11.00am-1.00pm

Part ONE 11.00-11.45am
SEGP Co-Chairs Lilias Cheyne and Danny McNamara will open the event
and you'll have a chance to meet other attendees and to check in with each other.

Next Zoe Nicholson, newly appointed GP Local Elections Manager and Deputy Leader of Lewes District Council, will explain the Green Party's ambitions for the next few years. How will that play out in the South East, what role will the SE Priority Campaign Scheme have within this strategy and how can local parties help achieve success across the region?

Part TWO 11.45am-1.00pm
INSPIRING STORIES OF SOUTH EAST GREEN SUCCESSES
Meet representatives of six local parties from the South East who have achieved astounding results. How did they do it? What are their tips for success? What would you like to ask them?

LUNCHTIME 1.00-2.00pm
Simply take a break from Zoom, or

1.15pm An update from Green Party Regional Council (GPRC) with Co-Chair Martha James

1.45pm News on the Constitution both from GPRC Co-Chair Adrian Spurrell

THE AFTERNOON - TOP TRAININGS 2.00-3.40pm

FIRST TRAINING SESSION 2.00-2.55pm - CHOOSE ONE - all will be recorded
1. Action Network - a beginner's guide

Senior Digital Support Officer Norm Cassidy will get you started with the basics
2. Phonebanking - a guide to reaching your members
London Field Organiser Eleonore Michels will give top tips - have a go yourself too (optional)
3. Year round door knocking and canvassing explained
With experienced Lewes Green Party Canvasser Zoe Nicolson
4. Winning is like Painting by Numbers
SE Field Organiser Claudia Fisher will give an introduction to the basics of Target to Win

SECOND TRAINING SESSION 3.00-3.40pm - CHOOSE ONE - all will be recorded
1. Action Network - advanced
Senior Digital Support Officer Norm Cassidy will demonstrate that there is much more to Action Network than meets the eye and will unlock some of its secrets
2. Using (free) software to manage voter canvassing and election day operations
Danny McNamara of Reading & Wokingham Greens share how they do this successfully
3. Messaging and the dark arts
Lewes Green Party's Anthony Shuster will explain how to separate a message from an issue
4. Long & short campaign literature unpicked
SE Field Organiser Claudia Fisher help you distinguish an election address from an addressed letter and more to better understand how to make an impact through the letterbox

CLOSING THE DAY - 4.00pm finish
From 3.40-4.00pm we'll take feedback and say goodbyes
but if you can't bear to leave, do please hang around for...

POST MEETING NETWORKING 4-5pm
If you fancy a relaxed chat with fellow SE Greens please stick around. We can even create break out rooms if you want to discuss something specific

MORE BOUNDARY CHANGE PROPOSAL DISCUSSION 4.15PM
This session will be for Local Parties with possibly different views of the same constituency

THEN THE REAL FUN STARTS! 7.00-9.00pm is QUIZ TIME!!!

David Newman from Oxfordshire Green Party and from Karl Kwiatkowski from Banbury have kindly organised a quiz - they say "It will be a Goldilocks quiz - not too hard or too easy, just right."
Places are limited to 15 teams of up to 6 participants

REMEMBER - you can come to all or part of the gathering, and can dip in and out as you choose! We're aiming to record all sessions apart from breakout rooms so you don't have to miss a second. We'll put the recordings in the SEGP website so you can catch up later.

The weather's looking a little iffy on Sunday, all more reason to  join us!
