Single Payer in the Hudson Valley

Start: Saturday, September 07, 201910:30 AM

End: Saturday, September 07, 2019 3:00 PM

Dutchess County Progressive Action Alliance along with the Social Justice Committee at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Poughkeepsie is hosting a workshop called Single-Payer in the Hudson Valley. Join us on Saturday, September 7th, from 10:30-3 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Poughkeepsie, 67 S Randolph avenue, Poughkeepsie, New York, to learn how to effectively talk about your healthcare story. This workshop aims to give you the tools to talk about why we need single-payer healthcare. Your personal story is your key to connecting with others about healthcare and we will teach you how to use this key. During the workshop, you will craft your story and practice telling it in small groups. Beyond personal stories, we will discuss how single-payer will uplift the Hudson Valley. We hope to provide a base of knowledge on single-payer healthcare so you will be able to explain it with confidence and tackle tough questions. Our healthcare system is deliberately designed as Kafkaesque, but after Single-Payer in the Hudson Valley, you’ll be able to confidently talk to your neighbors about single-payer healthcare. We welcome all who are interested, so please RSVP by September 2, so we can prepare enough materials and lunch for attendees. Doors open at 10, event starts at 10:30. We look forward to a fun, productive day!

This event is sponsored by the Dutchess County Progressive Action Alliance, Mid-Hudson Valley DSA, New York Caring Majority, Physicians for a National Health Plan, Campaign for New York Health, Hudson Valley for New York Health, and the Social Justice Committee of the Unitarian United of Poughkeepsie.
