This event will begin at 1:00 with a PowerPoint presentation in the Convent explaining the Sisters’ Solar 210-kilowatt solar array. 416 solar panels were installed in 2014 and another 280 panels in 2019. Solar provides at least half of the electricity for the Convent.

The presentation will include the Sisters of St. Francis’ rationale for solar, decisions made in constructing the solar project, and up to date results. After about 30 minutes, participants will walk to the solar array for further information on solar.

This event is co-sponsored with the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross.

SunDay is a global day of action on September 21st, 2025, celebrating the unstoppable rise of clean energy. We’ll come together to showcase the power of the sun and wind, the energy sources that can power our world without pollution.

The Power Point presentation is completely accessible. The solar site can be reached by walking on grassy, sometimes uneven, ground.
