SLSF: Aug. 27 & Sept. 3 Spanish for Phone Banking

Start: Thursday, August 27, 2020 2:00 PM

End: Thursday, September 03, 2020 4:00 PM

Do you speak Spanish AND want to reclaim our democracy? This two-part workshop will teach you strategies for engaging in meaningful conversations with voters who are most comfortable speaking Spanish. We’ll include specific vocabulary and tips on phone etiquette to help you navigate the critical first 30 seconds of a phone conversation – including phrases that communicate respect and help you earn voters’ trust. We’ll also cover topics from current phone banks, including wellness checks and encouraging vote-by-mail.

This interactive class will be co-taught by a native Spanish-speaking language instructor and an experienced phone banker. This is an intermediate-level class and will be conducted mostly in Spanish. Some experience with phone banking is preferred but not required. We’re keeping the class size small, so please only sign up if you can commit to attending the whole workshop.

If you’d like a sneak preview, or want to see if this workshop is appropriate for your level of Spanish, check out our class videos here.
